I have posted a few times before in this community and have got some good responses and has helped me. Today, I got a letter throught the post telling me I have a radiology test ? Has anyone else had the same during their experience. I originally went to the doctors for a swollen lymph node and was wondering if I got referred for this. I got told the lymph node could be swollen from a b12 deficiency.
Thanks for any responses

*** its an ultrasound, sorry for the misinformation. Its "US Neck", most likely for the lymph node
I also had what was thought might be lymph swelling/pressure in groin initially.
Nothing seen on x-rays or MRI - physio decided to treat it as bursar problem, which only ever gave some temporary relief - now a rare symptom, so certainly eventually improved with B12 injections. No link made to B12 deficiency but happened at the same time so I saw it as related.
The pressure was at times not bearable and counter-pressure all I could do. I once wasted 5 hours in A&E - and was then sent off with painkillers.
So really good that they have made that connection. Let us know what happens next.
That’s interesting about the possibility of swollen lymph nodes being related to low B12. When I first became sick with mono 38 years ago, I had swollen lymph nodes (or node) in my groin.
For years after that, I never really got much better and would complain about what I thought were lymph nodes under my jaw and chronic sore throats. All that is clear with B12 injections only.
I routinely took 2000mg SL B12 trying to get some energy. My lab value of B12 would always be over 2000 ( the labs here don’t measure higher than 2000). Every now and then I would stop taking the supplement because it didn’t help my fatigue one bit and my lab value of B12 would plummet.
One visit I saw that my MCV (Mean Corpuscular Volume) was really high and my B12 was again over 2,000. The doc had no idea why. Well, I did some reading and discovered that it is a “Cardinal Sign” of Pernicious Anemia. I’m sure it was confusing to the doctor because of my lab B12 value. Eventually a friend who was on B12 shots for chronic Lyme Disease gave me an injection and the fatigue lifted in four days, but the fatigue came back four days later. Now I inject Monday, Wednesday and Friday and take methyl folate orally and my life is finally, wonderfully better !
This forum has given me the tools to have a full life again after decades of suffering! I don’t want to waste a minute of time on things that are not important anymore! I thank God I found refuge, information and support in this community!
Strange you should post this, as I very recently saw an article linking the two. And thought wow, all these symptoms I've had are all due to b12. But I've no idea where I saw it.
Well I had swollen lymphs too, and had an ultrasound. It showed a few nodules, but nothing to worry about. Do go, as objective tests are always good to have. Fingers crossed its all ok.
sorry for the late reply, really appreciate the info! I could never find anything connecting the two really but at least I can somewhat relax thanks to your reply
