I don't have the right IT skills or s Web cam

So that's why the over 55 years old are often not included

valuable contributions being missed out on.

Sorry Nackapan .....selective survey

To me is a true survey is a questionnaire that does not eliminate anyone for any reason, be it ability, race, age or what ever.

To me this illustrates that the survey cannot be relied upon due to selective participant's.

I wrote about this earlier in the week, Re Gloucestershire G.P.s, people leaving comments .... "Who are they asking?" Another wrote " a friend having to wait three months to see doctor ... gone private as she wouldn't of lasted three months."

Nackapan have you raised this directly with HU - unlikely anyone that organised the survey will see this post.

I will try .TBH wish I hadn't replied.

Weary of complaints and confrontations about inequality .

We were posting about surveys recently and surprised by the percentage of each age group and gender .

That's why I posted on here

I think that even the people conducting the survey that we discussed previously understood (albeit retrospectively) that there was a likelihood that survey method may have excluded older potential participants - which then also has a big impact on the results. Important points, such as the percentage of those who self inject, would be affected. The percentage of older people involved was strikingly low, although 95% of the respondants were women.

..... B12 deficiency without old girls ?

Like smooth peanut butter - you'll never get to the nitty-gritty !

Good I'm glad aware now.

Looked for contacting HU but failed.

Tricky ,I realise as everything seemingly on I.T but important to be inclusive .

Interestingly I had a vestibular physiotherapy assessment questioaire in the post prior to it starting on the NHS.

(I had to have it read to me to be ticked .)but done.

.The pysio in her 60s actually said she trued electronic contact but had to spend so much time duplicating on paper to reach everyone on her referred patients she went back to her yried and tested method sending it with appointment letter. ( no extra cost)

I also worked in the 'transitional ' stage. Having to do paper and electronic records. More work.

In the next generation it will be sorted with disability aids on the it systems.

Not there yet

Love the analogy to peanut butter .

Made me laugh

🤣

Couldnt agree more Nackapan. Older people are excluded so often from things because they are the generatiion who didnt grow up with intagral IT skills. Very wrong, for many these requirements are ageist.End of rant😜

Yrs i 'take my hat off to those who are adept with I.T over 60Many on here!!

I made sure IT

'Paperless ' brought in whist I eas at work didn't push me out!

First tome I used a computer was then in my 50s . My job didn't warrant it.

Many jobs don't

No Interest out of work.

Didn't come easy though even starting in my 50s

I took longer writing up results on screen or using templates than health screening tge 20 children sessions.

Used to record as i went along . Done onto next.

Wd went paperless as a trial in the NHS but we needed paper in schools! No mobiles modems ect then.

To then have an extra job of inputting on the computer on return to health centre.

2 jobs.

Them mobile I.T

Coukdnt even find enough sockets along with the other equipment needed .

That's without the problem of carrying it all .

Felt like I was in training for a Duke of Edinburgh award.

Pack donkey even.

Even now I stand by

Let doctors be doctors with admin help ,inputting .

So many are looking at a screen even with a face to face !

We all after all have different skill mix.

Can't be everything

I am totally useless with IT skills, had to ask here how to look into an email sent to us from the surgery.Downloaded it still couldn't access it. After two hours of frustration someone helped ...... only for the reply to come back "For Medical Personnel Only".It was a copy of Medical reports sent to a Private Hospital !!!

I dont even have a Mobile Phone as my fingers seem to clumsy in pressing the wrong knob all the time.

I will stick to what I can do (which into days society of internet is NOT alot)

😜😱

You won't get the full picture about B12 without our inclusion. Plus, as someone pointed out recently - NHS a lot better when there were matrons. Now there were some older women unlikely to be ignored !

Very true . Matrons sisters, charge nurses ran the wards like headteachers!
