Calcium is used in part of the automatic response in your mouth which coordinates your jaw closing mechanism and your tongue muscles and usually stops you from biting your tongue. If you can try drinking more milk or eating more cheese and see if it helps.
Please let me know what the outcome is. I hope you get it sorted soon.
I eat cheese every day, only when I am in need of a B12 injection do I have involuntary jaw movements which often ends up with a bleeding tongue or inner cheek or lip. If I leave my injection for four days, or really over do my bike riding it will happen. I normally inject every third day that way I get no bites and no ulcers.
Hi lesbud1, I have the same problem and wear a gum shield to bed. Works wonders.
I bought it from Amazon. Just put it in boiling water, when it’s soft pop it in your mouth and suck it onto your teeth and gums. Hope you get it sorted!
