Injection frequency and advice on supplements

I have finally convinced my doc for 2shots per month. I really though this would really help but it’s like every injection is lasting less and less time. One injection gets me through about 7 - 8 days. It’s like the more injections I get the more injections I need, it’s odd. I know, I know, I should self inject but it scares me and I would much prefer to have a physician leading the way. My question is, has anyone ever been able to spread out time between injection or if you need them weekly is it then weekly for life? High levels and generally healing never give way to more time between injections?

Also has anyone found any kind of product that can be taken orally that seems to get absorbed and make any kind of difference. I would love to find something I can take inbetween injections to get me through. Right now I take 3 - 2500mcg sublinguals a day and I don’t think they do much.

One more thing, my folate level is 22 which is good I guess but would I be if it from taking some extra folate or will this throw things off?

Thanks so much

If you're taking three lots of 2500 mcg a day, and it does nothing, then it seems likely that you have PA and cannot absorb anything orally.

Your folate is fine. Taking more folic acid will do nothing. You might like to try taking 400 mcg of methylfolate a day for a month or three. A very small percentage of people do find that methylfolate is better than folic acid.

I was on 2 weekly injections for a year. I stuck with the regime as it was like 3 steps forward and 2 back. I'm still prescribed 2 weekly .

I'm now doing every 6th day .

I think any new regime needs a while to see if you benefit .

I still don't get a linear line of symptoms to know what I'm doing. I can feel I really need an injection then thd next day a little better??

So an still trying to find what's right for me

I do buy it now. I inject sc at home and have an IM one at the surgery every few weeks

Good you have managed to get more from your surgery.

K know whatvyih mean by it feels the more yoh have thd more you need

If i can get some more life back I will not change a thing.

Like you i would like more medical help and direction.

Ivd had help in ruling things out so far. Otherwise conflicting views and theories and medications offered.

Very upsetting and confusing.

Btw i did try sublinguals to space my injections ouf more and tablets.

Not as high a dose as you. It didnt work for me unfortunately.

I had been on weekly injections but was reduced to twice monthly after b12 blood work came back over 2,000. In hindsight, I do not believe I had full resolution of symptoms when I was cut back. I had felt so awful and felt so much better without realizing that I could feel even better and still had a way to go. Symptoms worsened and I went back to weekly injections and noticed improvement five days after that additional dose. In my case, I do not feel like the more I inject, the more I need. I feel like going to weeklies is going to allow me to cut back to once every other week again. I feel like I am topped off, if that makes sense? The most frequent injections I have ever had are weekly, so that could have an impact? I am still trying to find a schedule that allows me to inject as infrequently as possible without symptoms. I almost feel like I need a booster in addition to the once every other week once I cut back from weekly doses. It could simply be that I need weekly injections and twice monthly just isn’t sufficient? Anybody ever tried this type of schedule—incorporating a booster— and what was your experience? Thanks!
