Pins and Needles are now more pulsations?

Hi, I had very bad pins and needles before I got B12 injections (which I have had mostly daily since May) and although I still get them, I mostly feel a pulsating in my hands and feet now, especially in the evenings and at night. It’s like I can feel my heart beat in them in waves. Has anyone else had this? Could it be a sign of nerve repair happening?

Hope so. Sounds like a better blood flow?? If concerned get it checked with your Gp.

Thanks! Was hoping it was positive. Can only dream of a GP who is interested though. They have just said for years I have CFS and live with it, and any benefit from B12 is purely placebo!

They just are not well enough trained. I hate the CFC label.I havev it too . It's a symptom not a diagnosis!! See another gp I've been through them all at my practice Get a referral when possible.

Thanks - I haven’t been able to get a referral in 6 years and now they have told me I can only speak to one GP (the worst in my opinion) as they say I am wasting their time having to go through all my history with new GPs. I’ve tried them all. I was only going back to get some tests a private endocrinologist wanted!

That is not true. So many doctors do not believe in it. Good luck./

for about the last 2 years i've had a pulsing sensation when i'm laying in bed. at first i thought it was the motor on the hot tub vibrating the house. : ) now i realize it's me. it doesn't happen all the time. maybe 1 out of 10 nights or less. it's doesn't hurt. it's just strange.

i'm currently on my 5th injection 1000ug.

I am sorry to hear about your struggle. It is definitely not helpful when doctors are not listening and blame a placebo effect instead.

The sensation you are talking about reminds on what I felt in the beginning. It was like electric shocks that were randomly pulsating through my body and every use of vibrating electric devices like a hand mixer or (worst of all) a leaf vac gave me a very weird feeling in my hands. My advice would be to continue with the frequency of injections. I read a lot about peculiar effects when the B12 starts to repair nerves, you experience seems to be one of them.

I agree with Nackapan, maybe you should see another GP or a neurologist who can treat B12 deficiency appropriate. You will hopefully find one.

I could see that you have joined the forum in April 2020. So, I assume it's still an early stage of treatment and because of your neurological symptoms your deficiency might have been severe. Make sure that you take a good B complex. Supplementing magnesium could be also helpful, if you have PA it is likely that you have an absorption problem with other nutriments as well. Be patient with yourself, it needs time, and it can be a roller coaster sometimes.

B12 deficiency often goes hand in hand with underactive thyroid problems. Have a read of sister site. Chronic fatigue is also a symptom of an underactive thyroid...Hypothyroidism or perhaps Hashimotos .

Have you had vitamins tested. Find out which ones on this sister site and also the optimum nutrition needed. Are you taking Methyfolate to go with the b12 jabs, very important, Good luck. 😀

Thanks yes I take methyfolate. All drs have said my thyroid is normal so I’ve really just accepted that.

If I was you I would get my own full thyroid and vitamin levels check done by finger prick blood test sent in post and ask the folk on the thyroid site for advice. Also you can ask for a printout of the results from your gp and check yourself, they often only do the TSH test. NHS are notoriously ignorant on optimum vitamin levels needed and thyroid is much misunderstood. If you have a read on the other site you will be amazed. Very common to have b12 and thyroid problems together.

Thanks I have done tests but not asked outside of the few drs that looked. I will venture on to the other group!!

I have had weird internal vibrations or tremors since SI. I did not have these as symptoms of my b12 deficiency however I have read this can be the case. Since the injections have improved the numbness, pins and needles and fatigue I have continued assuming that this is part of reversing out.
