Very confused with health issues.

Hi everyone, I’m following HealthUnlocked from last 2-3 years and found very useful information time to time. 3 years back had low b12 levels around 175 , had very severe neurological symptoms even heart palpitation and irregular heartbeat. Initially I took some b12 injections and then sublingual tabs and got very relief . But this year in march i lost my grandfather and been through very stressful days . Again went for test and found same b12 level around 170 and also did homocysteine, around 14.5 . I started sublingual and b complex caps. Got some relief. But nowdays facing irregular heartbeat and specially left side shoulder blade very annoying sensation. Always fearing of heart attack . Very stressful these symptoms. Anyone feel same problem with shoulder blade annoying sensation?

I would get your shoulder checked out. Also your heart.

Coukd be b12 deficient symptoms.

Speak with the doctor that gave you b12 injections before perhaps.

I assumed that my thumpy heart was a "B12 deficiency thing", until for no good reason it got worse: more severe and more frequent until it was several times a day and most nights.

Nothing else had changed -not B12 injection frequency, diet, multivitamin and mineral tablets.

I went to GP, who sent me to the local hospital for a 24hr monitoring - and the cause turned out to be ventricular ectopics -an uncomfortable but harmless condition, suddenly starts for unknown reason and can suddenly stop in the same way.

I was offered betablockers to slow down the rate, but did not take them because I'd been told the previous year that I had sinus bradycardia (slow heartbeat !) when going in for a procedure on shoulder- so thought it best just to wait it out. It has now gone back to the usual infrequent and manageable nuisance that it once was.

Worth getting checked out for peace of mind. Initial ECG did not reveal anything. The 24hr monitor picked up around 4,000 episodes.

No shoulder blade annoying sensation, though. Procedure on my shoulder was because I'd broken it and torn rotator cuff- had to have a clean-up as I couldn't move arm properly.

So how did you solve this problem? Are you fine now ?

I didn't solve it. It just reverted over time back to a far less severe and less frequent condition, one which doesn't worry me. I wasn't prepared to take betablockers, which would only make sense to me if the information had been that my heart was consistently too fast, where I had also been told that my heart was slow. Or if it was a dangerous condition- which wasn't the case.

I'd certainly have your heart checked.

Thanks for replying. What did you mean from 24 hours monitoring 4000 episodes? I’m not familiar to medical terms.

Just that something unusual happened to my heart about 4000 times in that 24 hour monitor. Sounds like a lot doesn't it ? But it meant that my heart was normal 96% of the time. They can also tell which part of the heart specifically is being affected.

With graphs and readings not abnormal enough to need to see a consultant, they were happy to let my GP explain it to me.
