It just happens occasionally- nothing to worry about . Just press on the place for 1/2 minute and it will stop. At the doctors the nurse puts a piece of gauze on and sticks it with tape plaster .

Thanks! Yeah most times I don't have a gauze dressing on but the odd time they have(must be when I've bled)

Should I always drawback when self injecting incase I go in a vein or does it not matter? I opted for thigh as told this was better to do an less veins.

I never bother to draw back . I don’t think it is 100% necessary . But I dare say super cautious people do .

No need to do so.

It happens sometimes. I would say about one in 20 goes. I always have a piece of tissue draped over my knee in case a drop of blood appears. I just press the tissue to it for about 30 seconds and the bleeding stops.

You haven't injected into a vein, but the needle passed through a vein in the lower levels of the skin on its way through to the muscle.

Muscle tissue doesn't contain any large blood vessels. Have a look at a piece of real ham (not the compressed and reformed stuff) you'll not see any blood vessels.

Don't worry, as a former nurse I administered thousands of injections but I still get the occasional bleed when self injecting ! Good luck x

It really is nothing at all to worry about, sometimes I bleed, sometimes I don't....yet I think the technique is much the same x
