I have been given tablets for every day and prefer them to the injections. I feel great and have asked to stay on them rather than the bi monthly injections. They are called Cyanocobalamin 1mg each day.
Tablets vs injections: I have been... - Pernicious Anaemi...
Tablets vs injections
That's great news.
Keep an eye out for any return of symptoms. If you start getting pins and needles then contact your doctor immediately.
Do you know why you were put on injections in the first place?
Thars good news if they work for you.
Have you tried tablets before?
No. But I feel so much better and have more energy
I'm really pleased for you and a bit jealous. I've tried all sorts of tablets and sprays with no success.
I havent a diagnosis of PA so assume absorbtion problems.
Do you know what caused your low b12 ?
and the reason you having 2 weekly injections .?
Sorry with all the questions but I'm pleased these tablets working for someone .
You must be so happy.
Really pleased for you I've recently had blood tests for b12 deficiency and intrinsic factor however I know that the blood test for b12 on the NHS can come back as being high when it's not I've just started taking b12 tablets max strength obviously started taking them after blood tests so will report back to update everyone if tablets work I'm also taking vitamin d calcium and magnesium. Best wishes.
Perhaps you don’t have Pernicious Anaemia ? I tried tablets, sprays and patches , and they made not a scrap of difference. I am officially diagnosed with P.A.
The efficacy of tablets doesn't seem to be specific to PA - it relies on passive absorption and this seems to vary from individual to individual independent of PA.
Good that it seems to be working for you but do, as fbirder suggests, keep an eye out for symptoms returning.
That's great if they work for you good luck and best wishes but do keep an eye open for returning symptoms as fbirder suggests
Really glad that they suit you.
Some people seem to thrive better on one form of B12 over another, so maybe cyanocobalamin works better for you ?
Like fbirder says, still keep an eye on things, make sure any symptoms don't creep back into your life - while enjoying the improvements and progress made.
