Here, in the US, 200 is the lower end of the normal range for B12. I don't know what it is where you are from.

Was this to be your first injection or had you already received one ? If so then this level is very low in my non-medical opinion.

Have read your post and replies of two months ago so am wondering if the papers you were going to show your Doctor helped your case ...

Hi elainelxx1976xx looking at your previous posts it seems that despite having three monthly injection your levels appear to be constantly dropping.

You are entitled to have copies of your blood tests on which the ranges used <from - to> will be shown. It would be a good idea to obtain as many as cover the period back to when you had the loading doses. You may be charged for them but it must be a "reasonable" one.

I'm from UK and my B12 result came back as 75. I was informed that, as per the normal range, I was perfectly normal.

A bit more digging, and asking some guys on here and elsewhere and it's apparently seriously low. It appears that 'lab ranges' are lowered to the point where it's just about safe to say patients are within a normal range.

You say that your level of 75 was described as normal.

Was this a serum test or an ‘active’ B12 test? If the former it is very low. If the latter then is is well within normal range.

You should ask for the result, with the units and range.

It's active B12 I had tested. Came back as 75pmol/L.

So if you're telling me that's well within normal then my GP is overreacting and I've had multiple bizarre and borderline crippling symptoms for 18 months with no explanation. Looks like I'm starting again..

Thanks for letting me know this.
