I keep getting funny turns as I call them, my legs turn to jelly, I go immense hot and sweating, I shake and I have numb hands and feet

I haven’t had a B12 injection for 3 months. Is this related?

It could be related to the B12 or it could be something else going on ... or it could be a mixture of B12 and something else going on. Sounds as if you are due a maintenance dose anyway, but I would also suggest mentioning it to your GP or at least to the nurse when you get your maintenance dose.

Hi jomorgan1605 is this a regular occurrence in the run up to your scheduled B12 injection?

It is important that your Folate level is monitored as this is essential to process the B12.

There is a complex interaction between folic acid, vitamin B12 and iron. A deficiency of one may be "masked" by excess of another so the three must always be in balance.

Symptoms of a folate deficiency can include:

symptoms related to anaemia

reduced sense of taste

diarrhoea

numbness and tingling in the feet and hands

muscle weakness

depression

Folic acid works closely with vitamin B12 in making red blood cells and helps iron function properly in the body.

I am not a medically trained person but I've had P.A. (a form of B12 deficiency) for more than 45 years.

I wish you well

Have you had your vitamin D checked recently? Deficiency in D could explain your symptoms. Symptoms in other vitamin deficiencies can overlap. Excessive sweating, especially head sweating can be a sign of vitamin D deficiency, aches, pains and tiredness are also included. I did find a study (can't find it at the moment) that shaking and pins and needles can be a symptom too, if really low. As we are in the winter months, your doctor or nurse may be more agreeable to test you.

I have been having similar problems jomogan1605. I had blood test done January last year showed I had low Vitamin D as well as Vitamin B12. My Vitamin D has not been tested since.

I also have underactive thyroid. It is more complex than most GPs realise.

I hope you get someone who can actually help.
