I make it half a billion. After all, Cobalt is only 4.3% of the mass of B12. And a standard dose is 1 milligram.

I make it that 500,000,000 doses of 1 milligram each contain 21740269.21 mg, or 21740.26921 g, or 21.74026921 kg of cobalt.

Of course, I could have got my figures wrong.

I certainly agree that whether the cobalt costs $600 or $1700 is pretty irrelevant to the final cost.
