Hi Maddy

What has your GP said as your B12 and folate are v low indeed. You must have varied symptoms? You urgently need support from your doctor and you should be started on B12 injections and folate supplements. Don't self administer until you have a diagnosis from them. If you struggle to do this then speak to the pernicious anemia society as they can offer support. But don't let your GP fob you off.

Maddy - are you sure that you are quoting the right figure for B12 the serum B12 test is totally inaccurate when it comes to measuring anything that low - so if it was a private test I'd be inclined to believe that there was actually something wrong with the sample - and ditto if it wasn't.

Having Hashimoto's may put you at risk of developing a Vitamin B12 deficiency so please see your doctor about that and also your low Folate level as the two help your iron to make red blood cells and function properly in your body
