things to look into -

what type of b12 did you have - some people can respond quite badly to methyl and find that it gives them severe anxiety etc.

- is this a symptom you had before the loading shots and have come back since the loading shots - could indicate that you actually need to top up B12 again (though getting a GP to recognise that - or even a specialist - can be quite difficult.

Hi gambit62 again haha,

You always reply to me and I'm so grateful for it. I'm not sure what b12 jabs I had to be honest. I did have a couple of psychotic episodes with long spaces in between previous to injections but I believe these were down to stress and I was having a very difficult time with infertility and heartbreak. But I also believe I had PA then. Undiagnosed of course. But this feels different. I can't stop it. I just sit and stare into space, or am angry or emotional with massive fear! I woke at 4 am this morning and felt terrified because I dnt know what is happening to my body! Every single part of me seems to be affected. I'm 35 and have no life. B12 can mess with your mind can't it???? Or maybe I have something more serious going on up there x

apologies Dani but I can't remember if you are UK based or not -if you are UK based then you will have had hydroxocobalamin - sometimes methyl is used in other countries - and what you will need to do is to ask your GP what form of B12 you have. (In some people methyl can really put the processes that reset neurotransmitters in to overdrive which might be part of the problem if you are experiencing high levels of anxiety.)

There is a lot out there on ways of handling anxiety - and may be some techniques around self calming that may help in the interim whilst you get to the bottom of what is going on - I found mindfulness meditation quite useful.

This post may give you some ideas

And yes I'm am uk based 😊

Hi Dani - it seems the vitamin has sent you into overdrive. I can't comment on the B12 you are taking but can comment on having an MRI scan. I had one over 17 years ago for an ENT condition. I was so nervous about having this test but was told that when the test was done

I should bring my own tranquiliser for my nerves. I had a small prescription for Valium,

and duly took one half an hour before the test. As the test was done in a type of rocket capsule round my head and the operators told me to press the alarm button if I wanted to stop the test, I was really in a pink panic. I could feel my heart pumping - then the magnets which sound in the machine sounded like bullets - oh dear - why did no one warn me what this was going to be like!

I was going to press the panic button hand held - but was warned they would have to start the test all over again! Twenty minutes later feeling as if I had been on the largest big dipper in the world,

I found terra firma. Four months later I had an op privately for ENT - the surgeon removed a piece of cartilage in my nose, which did not appear on the scan! It seems the scan results might only last a short time - or the results had been inaccurately logged.

Just thought I'd warn you what to expect as nerves are horrid.

Thank you gadgrantg

I actually had an MRI a few months ago for another body problem and the experience is horrible! I hate being in that tube where you can't move! But my concerns are more based on the results, what they may find. I'm praying the b12 has sent me to over drive and it can be corrected. My bones have all stated clicking too of late so I'm probably faces more MRI s to come 😢

Hi Dani82, I felt terrible during and following the loading doses and thought I'd never be normal again. I don't think it was as bad for me as you are describing but I definitely had anxiety, fear and panic attacks - none of which I had previously. I really wondered if I would be able to continue working etc and asked a doctor friend why it was happening and how long it would be before I'd be ok again. She described it to me as the B12 travelling around my body (including my brain) repairing the damage and, if it had taken years to become deficient in the first place, I couldn't expect to feel better straight away and it would take time to settle down as all your nerve endings are being awakened by being given the B12 they need to function properly. It made sense to me and I am glad to say that it has settled down and I'm ok again. I hope this helps and that your MRI isn't too traumatic. Best to get everything checked out but hopefully the way you are feeling will just be down to the b12 doing its job.

This is reassuring. I had the MRI today it was horrible but do able thanks to the lovely nurse that held my hand the whole way through. I'm having terrible problems with feeling unwell and nauseous with upset tummy every time I eat. Gastro next week. How long did it take you to feel better?

Hi Dani - hope the MRI scan went ok. Have had problems with gut, and have had allergen test. I found to my dismay I had multi allergies wheat rye barley corn rice banana and cow's milkHa! Since removing the allergens have felt better. Can't remember if you had insomnia with your problem but have just read about the effect on insomnia from tart cherry juice!

I went to a pharmacy in my area and the test took two minutes. Over 40 foods were tested so well chuffed. There's an environmental test too which tests for common allergens such as chlorine fluoride - so might have that too as have loads of immune responses to chemicals.

Take care.GG
