Pregabalin (Lyrica)

I was diagonsed with PA/AMAG 3 months ago and started to si methyilcobalamin every other day for the past 2 months. I was also taking pregabalin 150mg a day for the burning sensation I have, specially on my feet. For the past 40 days, I was feeling weaker everyday, with an extreme fatigue, became very emotive and noticed that the bleeding at the puncture site when a blood sample was collected took longer to stop (platelets were normal). I was feeling very depressive too...

My wife (always her!) who is also a doctor, wondered if all of this could be a side effect of pregabalin. Well, I stopped to take it 10 days ago and in 24 hours I felt myself more active, fatigue became bearable and the burning sensation did not worsen. It has been like that since then.

I know it's only anedoctal, but I would like to warn you all who take pregabalin that its side effects are very similar to b12 defficiency symptoms!

Interesting - I'm taking pregabalin for nerve pain diagnosed as adhesions following hysterectomy for endometriosis. Have been taking them for years, but they haven't stopped my burning feet/legs. Might try tapering them off and see if that makes any difference to pain levels...

pregabalin is associated with reduced dietary uptake of B12 but as you have injections that shouldn't be a factor. May be the fact that it also affects the dietary uptake of folate that is affecting you and causing the symptoms you report.

Possibility of negative side effects of Pregabalin was discussed on Victoria Derbyshire this morning, cquadros . Mainly as drug abuse and with alcohol, but aggression mentioned a couple of times.
