My best analogy of b12 deficiency is. Put a red tshirt in the machine. Load it with whites, some cotton some synthetic. Do the wash as usual, the cotton stuff turns red absorbing the dye. The synthetics are fine. The cottons are good absorbers, the synthetics aren't. Us b12 ers Re the synthetics.
