Hi Kellybee. Not so easy to tell...sometimes a test is re-done - there may have been a problem with the images not being clear enough (something as little as a cough or a small movement while the scan is being done can be enough to disrupt the 'picture') or perhaps additional scan 'slices' are required (perhaps at a different level / intesity) or...perhaps the radiographer made an error 🙃
Or maybe the appointment office made a mistake and sent the additional appointment error (I once received two separate appointments on the same day for the one test ).
Best to make a telephone call and ask - the number will be somewhere on the letter you received.
If it is a recall - don't worry too much...it doesn't automatically mean that something is dreadfully wrong...or even wrong at all. 👍
Hello Kellybee,,,the first thing I would do, would be to call the MRI department and ask why they want a second scan with the contrast,,and see what they say,,,hoping it is just an admin mix up,,but it could be they need to see a new scan,,,they seem to be going very quickly and in asking you back directly, not via you doctor,,they a covering the situation,,,wishing you good luck,,and if you have to go back for another scan,,ask what have they found,,,,be strong and get to know what the scans have shown,,,,ttfn from karen.
Hi .. thank you for the replies.. I had a phone. All with the MRI department today .. they had issued me 2 separate patient ID numbers so I was on the system twice .. so thankfully no need for second scan 😊
