Took the plunge

I hope everyone had a good Christmas.

Yesterday my cousins's wife (a Nurse) showed me how to inject myself. Should have done this long ago but I am so excited because I CAN FEEL MY TOES TODAY.

I was having the usual 3 monthly shots but they are not enough so I am going to do monthly and see how it goes.

That's great to hear! That's a nice christmas gift. :)

But if you have nerve issues - and I'd say not feeling your toes qualifies! - you might try every other day until the nerve issues stop improving. (As per the guidelines).

hope the improvements continue until everything is back to what it was befoe you were ill.

Thank you Gambit62, I really hope so too. Was virtually a cripple when a wonderful consultant in Reading got me straight into hospital where I was diagnosed with Lupus and pernicious anaemia/ Took years to get almost normal.

Shame I had to move and surgery doesn't want to know! It is all down to this site I got the confidence so a very BIG THANK YOU.

Brilliant! Please make sure you get enough of the supporting supplements needed to make the extra B12 work: a broad spectrum multivitamin and mineral supplement plus extra folate, potassium, magnesium and maybe iron.

Happy New Year!

Thank you deniseinmilden. I had not thought of that. I'm on folic acid 3 times a week (reduced from the 5 days a week I was on for years), is that enough?

5mg daily when on alternate days. I'd advice you do that because of the nerve damage. Maybe join the face book support group as there's another world of information and advice.

Thank you blondie2505 will do that.
