Dumb and dumber with NHS money to burn (Tracey Witty blog)
That's so sad but I'm not surprised by the ignorance.
B12 deficiency is not the only condition where patients get similar answers. As well as PA I have hypothyroidism and the same thing has happened there. They tell me I do not need T3 but I am ill without it and well with it. Their answer to this - it is all in your mind. Yes I really want to make myself ill and when I do get the medication I need and feel better, well that is the placebo effect. They have an answer for everything.
Lilian, chronic illnesses and medication are not well managed. Ask any doctor who tells you T3 is a placebo, how does a placebo suppress TSH in thyCa patients and replace T3 levels post thyroidectomy? If it was placebo effect why wasn't I prescribed a cheaper alternative?
