Young Sufferers Weekend Away

I clearly remember the amazement on my daughter’s face the first time she met a room full of others who also had Behcet’s - the fact that they were all adults and she was only 14 didn’t matter to her at that time.

Online she met others her own age and once or twice she actually spent time with sufferer’s who were also under 16 - and she valued it highly.

With this in mind the Behcet’s Society has used funding from the Worshipful Company of Horner's to organise a weekend for Young Sufferers in April this year at Whitemoor Lakes in Tamworth Staffordshire

Young people (and their parents if they wish) can come for the whole weekend - Friday to Sunday - or part of it just to spend time with other’s who face the same challenges

The aim is for it to be fun - and informative

There will be physical activities with no need to worry about people not understanding why you may need more rests; indoor activities - or just chill time. For the over 18’s there may also be a trip out!

There will also be talks about Pain Management, a chance to talk to Doctors about the things there is no time to discuss in clinic; a School SENCO and also one of the Centre of Excellence Support Co-Ordinators.

So if you are 20 or under (or close) - or know someone who is Please Please come along to all or part of the weekend and help make this a success

The charge is a modest £15 for members and £25 for non members - to include accommodation food and activities

If you want more information first then send me a message and I will answer all I can!
