I’m curious if anyone has experience or knowledge of the new generation of DBS units that have “steerable “ current. More specifically, I am interested in the St. Jude Infinity units ability to be used after the Medtronic units have seemed to lose therapeutic efficacy.

The doctor from Swedish hospital gave a presentation and I was quite impressed. I had my DBS in Dec of 2017 and they have made great strides in how the surgery is done and the directional leads. I am soooo glad I had my DBS surgery!!!!!!!!!

What unit did you get? Where’s was the target, STN or GPI?

Sorry, other than knowing I have a Medtronic, I don't know. I would be happy to give any other info you might need from my personal email. Otherwise I don't typically check this site. anniesbluechair@gmail.com.
