Fun with Ambien CR

Recently tried Ambien CR 12.5 mg, slept 6 hours straight and felt great! When I got up I found pizza scattered all over the floor, a ream of printer paper everywhere and my pc keyboard on the kitchen counter turned upside down, also saw my thermostat sliding left then right on the wall, and a pencil walk across my desk and a lot of other things throughout the day performing odd movements, needless to say, I stopped taking the filthy drug and 24 hours later, hallucinations stopped. Still get a few now and then, its to bad because the Ambien really worked.

Anyone else have this kind of fun with Ambien CR?

Were you drinking? Ambien is especially dangerous when mixed with alcohol, but you don't have to drink to get into trouble, People have woke up in jail after taking Ambien. I consider it a dangerous drug. Google Ambien side effects for a wake up call to read some horror stories.

For you, the best advice is that you have to stick with normal medications. I have not heard about Parkinson’s patients using Ambien.

The only times I have ever had a nightmare culminating in screaming for help ( and scaring my spouse), I had taken Ambien. Only took it 3-4 times in the last 5 years, but each time it caused this.

I've been looking at this device for depression and anxiety awhile, even before PD hit. Do you have experience with it or know someone who does?

I have the Fisher Wallace unit. I was introduced to it by a physical therapist, it works well for my insomnia and I recommend it. You need a prescription from a doctor to purchase this brand, but it should be reimbursed by insurance. It helps with depression and anxiety too if that's a problem.

Thank you for your input. I know I can either get a prescription from my own doc or I can use one of their's to get the prescription. I'm surprised to hear that your insurance reimbursed you! That's great. I am comsidering it for depression, anxiety and insomnia. I'm not wanting to go the rx med route.

It is much better to take the natural route that I did and found it helpful. I sat for about half an hour facing the sun when it was rising so that the light shone on my eyes and reset my circadian clock. It for a few days you might find it very helpful.

On the medication part I found that taking have a tablet of Midazolam 7.5 milligram much better than all other options.

I tried it about 10 yrs ago. I talked to my friend the next dày & he said I had called him and had a long conversation and I didn't remember it. Another friend said her son woke up the next day and there was ketchup smeared all over his walls in his house. Scary stuff.

I have used Ambien for years. The first weird symptoms I had was sleep eating. That didn’t make me willing to go off of it because I was sleeping so well.

This week I had an episode where I think I took some extra I medication, and that was serious enough to make me start to go off of it.

I cannot afford an overdose because of Ambien. I was taking 10 mg pr. night.Cut jback to 5 mg a night for a week and will go to 5 mg every other day for a week and then I’ll be off of it, and will be substituting it with natural substances.

Best to you.

Lovingly, Eva Gabrielle

I am a caregiver and have had insomnia for years. The various meds I tried greatly weakened my adrenal glands causing a lot of problems. What helps me now is lots of melatonin (up to 15) and lots of valerian (up to 400mg.) Safe to take together. I take half before bed and the other half if I wake up and cannot go back to sleep. I think others have mentioned this...

No hallucination, no memory of roaming around in my sleep, but trails of food crumbs throughout the house. I live alone 😲. I've since gotten some sleep relief with melatonin. Ambien didn't work well after a while.

4mg Melatonin and 1mg CBD oil at bedtime is working for me at present.
