Sinemet 25/100 not available again UK

I've been told by my pharmacy that they can't fulfill my sinemet order again and I need to ask my doctor for an alternative. I can't get an appointment with my neurologist until January. Is anyone else having the same problem?

Your GP should be able to deal with it if it needs dealing with. Can they not supply a generic c/l?

Seems to be a problem getting my sinemet in the UK, keep getting generic brand.

Same situation in the USA. I have called Merck Customer Service and was told production would resume in Summer 2020.

It’s a worldwide problem. Basically Sinemet is no longer being produced by Merck Pharmaceuticals. Something to do with one of the basic elements of the formula is no longer available!

I had to switch to the generic Levocarb (Levodopa CarbodopCR) almost 2 years ago now. I live in 🇨🇦 Canada! My pharmacist and neurologist warned me before the Sinemet ran out. Some differences in the product so dosing needs to be adjusted to suit your individual needs.

Generic doesn’t work on me. I’ve had no problem getting Sinemet 12.5/50.
