Big benefits from thinking small

Well we finally moved! It's taken over a year complicated by my meltdown. But I now have a home. It's just wonderful.

As a consequence my life style has transformed.

I'm in a gorgeous town, everything is on my doorstep, literally. I have entered the gentle ebb and flow of 'things. Wednesday is market day with an array of perfect vegetables, Friday is fresh bread from an artisan bakery. Tuesday is lunch with a newly made friend in the shop opposite. My head nods as I pass windows, familiar faces smile, hands wave. I have a safety net.

My car hasn't moved for two weeks, my tiny fridge never swells from a weekly shop, I buy daily, everything is less..... Less rubbish, less dishes, less laundry, less mess.

As a consequence I can cope. More than that, I'm blooming. I feel liberated, I've gained some control back. I'm no longer overwhelmed.

It's brilliant!

Kindest, ever

CHH

Hi Colleen

It was good to read your latest post. You sound more like your positive self. How great that you have found somewhere to live, somewhere that sounds as though it has worked its magic on you already. Please continue posting as I love to read your posts. I would like to wish you every happiness in your new home. Maybe we should all take a leaf out of your book!!

That's so great. My plan are very similar - in five years, we are planning to 'downsize' to a small market town where everything is in the doorstep. I don't know how my health will be by then, but it's a good plan. I'd be really interested in learning how you get on.

in reply to stevie3

I wholeheartedly recommend it, and I will keep you updated.
