COWS FED UNNATURAL PROTEIN ,TO MAKE THEM MORE PROFITABLE) DEVELOPED BALANCE AND MOTOR CONTROL PROBLEMS CALLED MAD COW/D, IT WAS SAID THE DISEASE COULD NOT BE TRANMITTED TO HUMANS, BY EATING THE MEAT, BUT IT DID..RESEARCH IN CJD WAS FOCUSED.THE ANSWER EXPEDITED.. PARKINSONS RESEARCH SAY ALPHA PROTEINS ARE FOUND IN EXCESS IN BRAIN CELLS IN PD PEOPLE. PD IS WITHOUT QUESTION PROTEIN RELATED. ONCE A PARKY NO GO BACK

AND PD SUFFERS ARE UNADVISED WHAT PROTEINS TO EAT. THEY JUST DONT HAVE SCOOBY??

THE INABILITY OF THE SYSTEM TO FLAG UP A DOPAMINE LOSS UNTIL NEARLY QUARTER IS LOST , CREATES A NO RECOVERY SITU.THE PROTEIN GETS DUMPED LIKE ROTTEN APPLES IN THE BARRELL,HAVE CONTAMINATED THE REST

PARKY PARKY IDENTIFIED,,,,AT LAST MR SCOTT

,WE MUST FOCUS ON IRRADICATING THE PROTEIN SURPLUS, THIS SWEDISH LASER I FEEL IS THE ANSWER.SO AHEAD FULL WARP MR SCOTT..........AYE CAPTAIN QWIRK

Has it been put forward as a cure or tested as such, and if so has it had any success?

Success or failure can only be evaluated by the result be it good or bad.

Like the saying goes ''If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.''

have seen programs on PBS on prions, tiny particles smaller than viruses, that cause Scrappie in sheep, goats, etc. In the US cattle are fed the scrappings from the floors of chicken farms and other unmentionable, disgusting unnatural fillers. Corn itself is not natural food for cows. Grass is.

No thanks. I think study should be focused on the function of the human colon. My neuro who's a research doc says not much study in that area.

pat parkys hve an excess of protein clogging up the works upstair, we are what we eat.,looking at the colon aint gonna get us sorted, we need to stop the excess happening or if we can rejuvenate the dopamine producing cells, by cleaning the blockage, a run through with a xmas tree aint the answer,a clean pair of pants is needed first

Hello Professor

You make an interesting observation re Protein. There are supposedly several causes developing Parkinsons, pesticides and mercury fillings to name but two. However, whilst I have been subjected to chemicals and I have mercury fillings, in my opinion it was the eating of too much protein which I believe was the cause of my developing PD. Why do I believe this? Well at one time I followed a high protein diet too enthusiastically and over a couple of years developed a severe tremor which was diagnosed as Parkinson's. No cause was attributed by the neurologist, so I am left wondering like many of us are.

At this time, we have many books out that advocate eating protein, but I just wonder how much our bodies really need. Why is it, for instance that vegans live well without eating protein from animal and fish sources, but getting sufficient from plant sources only?

The question would like answering is how many long term vegans develop PD compared with meat eaters? Is the current craze for eating animal derived proteins storing up poor health problems over the long-term? Time will tell!

I hope this thread will get more responses from people who believe we eat too much protein, thus leading to chronic health conditions further down the line.

Norton, parkinsons has been around many years before pestacides. toxic this n that even before cheap toilet paper. the facts clear to me has to be something we eat, combined with something else now that's generalising, but , what , my own opinion is , we parkys need to have lost 20/25% DOPAMINE before the problems show. have you ever had your dopamine level checked

what is the proper level., that's the $64000 question . if checks were done , we wouldn't be having this conversation. KNOWING ALL THE SMART GUYS WHO WORK IN RESEARCH , ANDTHE SOLUTION COMES FROM ME.JUST A PROFESSOR ,I THINK ID BE VERY EMBARRASED, SO PARKINSONS I THINK PROTEIN POISONING SATURATION. THE MEAT EATING WORLD CAN NOW SHIT THEMSELVES ,I WILL FINISH BY ASKING ALL VEGITARIAN PARKYS TO RAISE A HAND, MY GUESS IS THERE WONT BE MANY, 1 FUTHER THING MUSLIMS WONT EAT PORK BACON BUT NO ONE REMEMBERS WHY,,,, CAN YOU GUESS NOW NORTON

Professor,

I think that your question asking how many vegetarians have 'parkinsons' needs to be asked separately, to give it more prominence and hopefully a larger response. I am willing to set the question if you would like me to?

Piotr Hanczyc, PhD student at the department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, shows in an article in Nature Photonics, that the amyloid, a very dense aggregate of protein that causes brain diseases like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, carries unique characteristics. Unlike well-functioning protein the amyloid reacts upon multi photon laser irradiation. This laser may in the future possibly be used for detection of amyloids inside a human brain. This discovery is in itself a breakthrough.

Its all beyond me but I just found this which is a little easier to understand

phys.org/news/2013-11-laser...

My question is what is amyloid protein and does it have anything to do with protein in the diet ?

I don't understand you. Eating protein does not necessarily lead to plaque in brain. Let's see the surveys.

I do not know if we are all talking about the same thing protein, plaque or even cholesterol deposits. If it is the latter, I do know that cholesterol is only derived from animal products and not plant material and of course, the liver makes it. If you want confirmation of this, the information is easy enough to find out on the Internet.

I think it's pretty well established now that problem cholesterol is mostly hereditary. No matter how many eggs or hamburgers I eat, I will never have bad cholesterol. And what is amyloid protein and how does it form in the brain?
