hi, I had a really intense and very sore sharp pain in one of my ribs it then radiated to the other side . It comes and goes all day and sometimes get a burning sensation or stabbing pains in my upper back and hot flushes. Has anyone had this? Doctor said ibs then stress then Costochondritis. Never had any tests done. I’ve had this pain for 10 weeks. Thanks

The pain in rib area could be trapped gas.As goes for the back pain.

Hot flushes can sometimes be caused by trapped gas and constipation.

Hope this helps.

Get ct scan..don't want to scare you but I wish doctors had taken more notice of my pain.. I have bone cancer.

sorry to hear that. What was your symptoms?

My first thought was pleurisy but when you said you've had it for 10 weeks, I don't think you would be able to stand that much pain for that long. I've had it and it started on one side then moved to the other. Hurts really bad when you take a breath.

... when i read your post my first thought was 'sounds like costochondritis' not sure, but i think it's something to do with the muscle wall inside your chest... ... the hot flushes may be something else. i.e. depending on your age, but also something that I have is extremes of feeling hot & cold, as the body can't regulate it's temperature so well with fibro.... so I'm told. But the hot flushes I get aren't the same as the ones caused by the menopause.

Mine is terrible bouts of shivering then feeling too hot and legs that get really twitchy and I have to keep moving them.... really strange. I even get this in bed when I'm fairly relaxed. It's driving me nuts as well as waking every hour or so and having to use the loo as well.! No wonder I'm knackered and can't think anymore. ... terrible brain fog!

thank you , I’m 31 I don’t think menopause although it could be. I was thinking fibro too but doctors don’t seem to bother.

I know... I think most doctors are a bit flummoxed by fibromyalgia... there's not a lot they can do apart from prescribe meds and some of the meds make you feel worse! I went to the dr's this morning and when I told her about the shivering, she just looked at me and said, wrap up warm... (can't get much warmer in bed in october than a 9tog duvet plus fleece blanket and it still happens... then i get hot and off comes the blanket.) I have raynaud's as well and there's not a lot i can do about that either... the meds they gave me made my my feet and legs swell up! Hope they get that pain sorted out for you. take care

Sounds like peripheral neuropathy to me, does it affect your feet as well?

Oddly enough not so that i've noticed. my hands and feet tend to be cold especially in winter. This shivering affects all of me and the colder the weather is getting the worse it is.... even indoors.
