Has anybody experienced psoriasis under/In the nails ? I have it and my toe is so sore at the moment - can’t wear shoes only flat open sandals.I have it In my fingers too - the nails have become loose from the base of the finger. Sometimes by mistake the nail flicks back. I no longer can have long nails. Does anybody understand?

Psoriasis In nails
Hi thereI understand exactly what you’re saying as I have had psoriasis in some form my entire life and I’m 82.
My toenails are worst affected but they don’t lift away from the nailbed as you say yours do. They are distorted and ingrowing so recently I had to have partial removal of one big toenail as it was so painful.
I can therefore sympathise with you and realise there will be manual tasks you just cannot perform.
I have found a number of household aids very helpful from amy@musthave and if you’re interested I can post you the link.
What does your dermatologist have to say about your nails?
Take care, so many others understand!
Hi Linelover15 thanks for your message. It was so good knowing that somebody understands what I’m talking about and the pain and the difficulty living with it. Not being able to wear shoes is a big problem again. It all went away for years and suddenly has come back 🙈
Yes, that’s the problem with psoriasis, never knowing what’s going to trigger a flare up and then stressing about it, which in itself can lead to an outbreak! Mine is now psoriatic arthritis but don’t worry, that is only a small percentage of psoriasis sufferers. My husband has dementia and now I suspect, bowel cancer. Hey ho, we just have to get on with it.
I fully appreciate your difficulties and hope you can begin thinking there are much worse things out there than psoriasis. Take care.

Sadly yes I have had psoriasis for 46 years and my nails finally cleared up after using biologics…. Nail psoriasis is crazy painful.
my finger nails are quite week because of psoriasis best to keep them as short as possible and rub cream into your nails.
My husband has this and isn’t nice at all , are you on medication from your doctor for it because it has helped him a lot , take care , and I hope you will be a lot better soon ,x
