Potential Causes of Vaginal Pain?

Hi! I'm new here. Was wondering if I could get more of an insight into what I'm going through.

About 4-5 weeks ago me and my husband had very rough sex. Immediately afterwards I was quite sore, and when I urinated it burned as if I was covered in tiny cuts (it was around that time of the month, and usually get drier at that time so I wasn't concerned), but other than that and feeling almost numb there wasn't an issue.

The next week I still had the same problem, but instead of feeling numb I felt an aching pain in my vagina, in a similar area to where I get period pains, and we wasn't able to have sex because I was in pain. I had slight spotting, however I had the contraceptive implant fitted in January, and when I last had it I had irregular bleeding then as well.

So my husband goes away for a couple weeks, I think that if I take it easy, use some moisturisers and gels things would improve, and the burning did subside. When my husband came home and we tried to have sex we had to stop immediately because when he inserted himself I had a shooting pain that was unbearable.

I thought it had only been 3 weeks, and I've always been slower to recover from things so again I thought I'd take it easy, and then last night I tried to use a tampon and immediately I had the same pain in the same place, almost as if there was a spot there (not a lump that I could find, just a general area the pain came from). I tried to examine myself and I put my fingers where it hurt but I didn't experience any pain.

I've got an telephone appointment next week which will hopefully get me seen face to face. I've tried looking up what it could be and nothing really fits the bill completely. It could be a cyst, bruising or anything. I have a lot of trouble with anxiety, particularly health anxiety, so it's been difficult to get to the bottom of this without going over the deep end. Any thoughts?

I think the implant is the problem. I’d take it out. Could you take the birth control pill instead ? I had an IUD inserted when I was younger and it caused pain with intercourse and spotting. I had it removed within a month.

Good luck.

I actually had the copper IUD before I had the arm implant put in, and aside from it being difficult to find when I took it out and thankfully had no issues with the IUD. I'm leaning more towards it being a cyst or something, or maybe even prolapse but I'm not sure :(
