Your welcome...I find voltarol or ibuprofen gel on the sternum helps calm the pain down

I am a side sleeper but I had to try and sleep on my back. I used to be on steroids for costo and they did work bit as soon as I tapered off it was back with a vengeance. I have mentioned this before and think someone commented that it's not available in the UK. But my rheumatologist increased my Joncia and I've not had costochondritis since. Just a thought.

The simple answer....

Whatever makes you comfortable.

I spoke to a lumbar expert once about my back and he said, forget all these things about the correct posture for this or that. When you have a condition, the best position is the one you find comfy!

Hiya, just reading this post and I hope it has calmed down for you. I am the same. I feel it down centre of sternum and on top of my chest. Usually I sleep on my side hugging a pillow.
