So it's been almost 5 months since my tkr of my left knee. I have numbness from my knee down to my ankle. After testing I was told that my femoral nerve was damaged from femoral block. The dr told my it would be a year before the nerve healed itself. I am unable to strengthen my quads and still use a cane to walk. I tried to return to work after 8 weeks but did not make 2 weeks before my leg was toast. I am experiencing a lot of pain in my knee as well as nerve pain. I'm totally frustrated! Has anyone else experienced this?

Tkr pain
Hi scruff15 I had a tkr seven years ago and am still in chronic pain. I was examined and told it was this and that but not to worry as it would probably go after about one year, then it became after two years, then it was three years. As time went on I learned that unless the problem is tackled early on then there is high probability it will never be solved. So my recommendation to you is to strongly push for early treatment. You need a consultants response, then a second opinion? Don't accept the usual NHS delay after delay. Very best of luck for a success.
I'm so sorry to hear you are still in pain after that many years. Thank for the advise. Yes, I did get a second opinion and that's how I found out about the femoral neuropathy. My concern is that I won't be able to get my quad muscles back. I work them out every day and still I have little results. I'll keep at it and hope for the best. All I want is to get it strong enough to walk so I can go back to work. Best of luck to you.
Only been a month for me, however with the pain I get at night, early morning and just for no reason at all an intense pain like a red hot poker being rammed into my knee and running down my shin,I'm already regretting having it done does it ever stop hurting?
