POST OPERATION OAIN

Had ruptured discs operated on in 2003,, i am on 162mcg hr patches of Fentanyl changed every 2 days (they don't last 3) i was on 200mcg hr but my doctor has been cutting me as i wait longingly for my pain clinic appointment,, i am now at my threshold and any more cuts I'd probably be off work. I have read about the lozenges and i am hoping that i will be able to wear 100mcg patch on my body (pref 2 x 50mcg hr incase one comes off ) and take a Lozenge in morning when its really sore, after work again when its really sore and sometimes at bedtime. I believe 3 a day isthe norm and have worked out that 62 x 24 is around 1500mcg over 24 hours so 3 x 800 mcg lozenges a day on top of my 100 mcg hr patch would mean I'd have slow release pain control through my patches and a fast acting Lozenge for breakthrough pain ,,, which if anyone out there has had this operation or suffers Aggressive Sciatica then they'll know how chronic and soul destroying the pain is ,,, along with the cramps .

Thanks folks

Joe
