Broken shoulder

I broke my shoulder on 21St March. While things are improving am still in a lot of pain and am scared of banging my right arm.

Can anyone advise as to when my arm will be fully functional without pain

Depends on how bad a break, how well fixed , which bones , pinned or replaced and so on. Any damage to the socket? (could lead to arthritis)

Generally a few months should see it grow back to normal. Are you getting physio for it- that would facilitate recovery.

Thank you so much for responding, the diagnosis is 'Closed fracture of the proximal humerus' have had two sessions of physiotherapist. I'm sorry to say I'm feeling sorry for my self as it happened to my right arm, and this has rendered me virtually helpless. The pain is getting me down

If you have ligament damage this alone can take a long time to heal but may be you have a trapped or damaged nerve which causes an unbearable constant pain. Have you tried ice packs and are you taking any medication that can help with pain or swelling? Let your doctor know that your struggling. Unfortunately these things take time to heal but you need help while your waiting.
