Hi I am new here just need some advice I have just about had about 3 weeks off work due to a suspected mensial tear,I am due the results soon, but I have got an appointment to see an orthopaedic surgeon but it is a month away, my sicknote ends just after next week, should I go back to work even I have some pain and might still need a crutch to get around and would I get the results in that appointment.

Is it possible that you GP will be notified of the results and can tell you what they are? Much might depend on how stable your knee is and the nature of your work. Your GP should be able to advise you.

I was fortunate enough that I was able to manage for a long time with the meniscal tear. I only went ahead with the surgery when I reached the point where the knee was locking and contributing to a fall approx. x3 a week. The surgery was more to forestall fractures and other problems caused by falling than for the knee itself, IYSWIM.

Well,it's the right knee,it's only when I am walking,I having to limp because obviously I can't straighten it fully and sleeping is not too good either.
