I have had phn for just over 10 years. When I had shingles my doctor did not give me the antiviral hence pain all day every day for the last 10 years. I do a lot of craft which helps to try and forget the pain. Is there anyone who has had phn for so long.

Hi Brownlab,

Yes, I've had PHN for almost 13 years and now have permanent damage. I had shingles back in 2004, when I was 27, and only 2 blisters! I didn't seek medical attention until it was too late for anti-virals (and I was in a low-risk category for PHN too), as I thought they were insect bites. Unfortunately the initial mild pain round my torso later turned into excruciating nerve pain which travelled up my spinal nerves. You can read my story on this blog: cloudywithachanceofpain.com...
