Thankfully i wasn't coughing up nasty stuff .i just had the discomfort in my chest the cough and the cracking sound when i breathe. I also have a sinus infection..
Timing is important when thinking that your Bronchitis will be relieved by an antibiotic. The vast majority cause of Bronchitis is a virus. A virus is way too small for an antibiotic (made of proteins) to have any affect on them, much less to kill the virus. If you have had Bronchitis for 2 or more weeks you may have developed a secondary bacterial infection. That is when the antibiotic may be of use. Otherwise the treatment is fluids like 8 oz per hour that you are awake, rest, you may need t bronchodialator and /or steroids like Prednisone to decrease the inflammation of the Bronchi. All this needs to be discussed with your health care provider. I wish you the best. Bronchitis can take weeks to get well from.
Try upping your vitamin D three. My husband and I have not had a cold in years ever since we started taking 3000 international units daily. Check out the expert on this vitamin that m.youtube.com/watch?list=PL....
Hope you get well soon.
Thanks everyone..after all these weeks this is the first weekend I don't feel laidened dwn with a heavy chest!.x
I had a bad dose of bronchitis 4 years ago but now when I get a cold this crackly chest starts and they keep giving me a turbohaler but as soon as I stop it the crackle comes back. Only antibiotics seem to stop it but doctors seem reluctant to give it to me which means I spend months getting rid of it.
