My toes are still tingling - does anything help get rid of neuropathy??
Neuropathy : My toes are still tingling - does... - Pain Concern
Neuropathy
I have a small nerve fibre neuropathy in my hands and feet and treated by Prof Ginsberg's team at the Royal free hospital. I take a combination of Pregabaline and Dulixetine which help block the pain signals but if I get a bad flare I have to resort to steroids (prednisolone) not by choice. A short course no more than 5 - 7 days and drop quickly back to 5mg. Unfortunately it's the only drug that gets theboain under control and suppresses the activity. Hope that helps. Jackie
Hi Jackie
Did this professor diagnose you? I was referred to a neurologist but the waiting list is long and the Royal Free is much closer to me. I could maybe pay privately too.
Thanks.
Hi grandma, I have The same problems , I take 375mg of Pregabalin a day , But still have to take Paracetamol 500mg on some occasions Especially at bedtime, so hang in there its a bit hard I know but I cant walk very far without getting pain kicking off ,, good luck !
Depends on what's caused the neuropathy?
Some can be temporary if the nerve has 'just' been traumatised or damaged but some is permanent unfortunately.
There are certain physio exercises to help sometimes but like I've said, it depends on the type of damage or reason for the neuropathy in the first place.
If you can elaborate a little, we may, between us all, have some answers/ideas for you!

Any pain suppressing drug comes with its own problems and for me they are worse than the neuropathy. I use imaging techniques to control and accept the pain. I've had it for so long now that I ignore it most of the time.
I have a tens machine and it works a bit, but I find my electronic massager is the best thing it's got programs for massage, cupping, accupuncture and Others. It hurts in a satisfying way like a good scratch and they are only a few pounds on wish or eBay The bonus is toned muscles and increased strength.
Where can I purchase a n electronic massager to help with neuropathy in in my feet ? Been using tens machine for back pain for many years i take Gabapentin for nerve pain .
I have mentioned here Metanx, a prescription medical food based on B vitamins and folate. You can Google it for details. Not addictive, but needs prescription in US. Not often covered by insurance, costs about $60/month in US.
not get rid of put control. I have a foot massage machine (off the market), a tens unit which helps, and then I use Gabapentin 1200 x3 daily. My PN is alcohol related so I can't drink anything. I have tried and paid the price last week. Burning feet. I also use oxycodone for that and other aches and pains. I hope for you that's all you get is tingling toes cause it can get worse. Good luck grandma
I have had pain in my feet for years which is getting worse. I have been on most of the medication going for Neuropathy but nothing works. I have been on Long Tec 80mg for months it works for about 2 hours then starts again. Think the pain clinic has given up on me. Hope they do find something for you.

is it just in your toes? And I take it you've been diagnosed with pn and how long have you been suffering and are you taking any medications? If you could fill in the blanks hopefully we can all pass on any relevant information about your problems,it's such a complex sensation or trying to explain on,as when I went to hospital there's a list that gives you sensations/symptoms/pain and the list was endless and I added even more! And I don't want to be a doom merchant but I've been a sufferer for over 4years + and I'm afraid to say my symptoms have never ceased, but as we are all different you might respond to various forms of medication, another mans meat is another mans poison,or horses for courses comes to mind,so be patient if you're going through the mine field of getting a diagnosis,I wish you luck and hopefully you can put a little more information about your pn.
Peripheral neuropathy sucks. It hurts or it is ultra-sensitive. I can feel every crease in about 15 different types of socks (inside of my inuance provided shoes). Many of the socks are designed for neuropathy. I have tried the 3 drugs - Lyrica, Gabapentin, and A compound with like 6 components. Gabapentin had a lot of side effects. So I quit. It is in my hands (fingers mostly). None of the doctors can tell me if my male related issues are PN related. All my doctor's love to play the blame game. Nobody giving me an answer. I am wits end because 6 months is too long without usage! I will have to up my research level and find a decent neurologist who understands being young and not being able to get it up.
What is cavaject? Have severe neuropathy and in excruciating pain! Having a lidocaine infusion done Wednesday. Anyone heard of it or tried it? Guess the side effects are bad. I'm not sure yet. A little scetchy to me. Don't want that needle in me. Biggest thing is...afraid to have that running amuck in me. Anyone?
