If I put my opinion in that bin I would fill it. Also I would be banned from the forum. Can't print it off I only have an iPad.

Hi Gemini. You could maybe download the linked document and save it on your ipad until you happen to be somewhere where there is a printer. Most public libraries have them.

Thanks so much for posting this link. Very helpful indeed.

People have a need to help out. And they genuinely believe they have the solution you've been waiting for AND are the first to tell you. I let them get on with it, sometimes it's Just their way of working out what life is like for you, part of the acceptance process. In the early days I aked them to write it all in my "how to cope book" So I wouldn't forget, and would read through and have a chuckle to myself at how silly and repetitive some of it was. It made them feel valued as a friend, and it also showed me how many people were trying to help, even if it was useless. And that's quite nice.

Once in a while though, one of the suggestions worked. So back pain suffers, if you have a difficult time walking down stairs, turn round and hold on tight, go down backwards, if it is safe to do so ie not in a public place! Make sure you have reached the bottom too. You use a different muscle combo and for me anyway, it lessens the pain.

Hi Zanna,I really like the idea of the cope book, many of my friends don't like to ask me how I am,incase I don't want to talk about things,so thanks for the tip,I may try it,but might feel a bit uncomfortable, but I'd be ok with closest friends.May be good when this film 'cake' comes out, which is sending me into fear that we all want to end it,so yes I may use the book if friends have seen the film

Warm wishes

Wendy

Hi Nedd, just an amazing image, made me angry, then sad.But I am trying not to expect people to understand what it is like to be in constant pain, most people on this planet know what it is like to have pain at some point in their lives,it is part of being human.Ours has just for some reason got hot wired in the brain. But great image. If anyone likes the visual form of art images on chronic pain,I did a workshop in photography with Deborah Padfield,a book was produced called Perceptions on Pain,on Amazon, people that were on the Input Programme at St. Thomas's Hospital took part,I love the book, people's writings on living with chronic pain and art work that I think shows their own pain so well.

Best wishes

Wendy
