I have had various MRI's on my back in the normal tunnel type scanner, but was reading that upright ones may show more precise images. Has anyone had a tunnel MRI for the back then had a Upright MRI on the back and it came back showing something with the upright scanner?

Hi, I had an upright MRI a couple of weeks ago and it was fantastic.I sat upright in a type of armchair and watcheda video of Top Gear while the scan was being ddone. The scan took about 20 minutes followed by about another 5 minute scan carried out while I was standing up.I then went straight in to see the doctor who had the scan results up on a large screen, and the results were amazing. It really did show everything in so much detail. The doctor explained everything that could be seen on the report and I went home with a copy of the scan on dvd and a written report.I was really impressed with this scan. The only down side was, this scan was only availabe privately at the moment, at least here in London it is, and it cost me £900, but I did get a glass of sparkling water and a little dish with Belgian chocolates while I was waiting for the scan. But seriously, if you need a really detailed scan, go with the upright
