Hello BOB here

One problem that occurs after nerve surgery is the nerve if given time, re routes itself and find another pathway

This type of pain is normally treated with Amytrptalene, and sometimes to reduce swelling and pain an NSID.

You will need to take advice of GP, you need a script ( EXCUSE SPELLING) still early

All the best

I agree with Bob advice of a gp is needed. However you could try to ease it in the mean time with voltarol cream which seems very effective on my daughters wrist which she broke very badly some years ago and was left with intermittent nerve pain. However make sure you buy it from a chemist than can advise you on any contra's with existing meds or things you may be allergic to.

As for the post above ermmmmm will just ignore it I think.

Voodoo witch Dr.'s are the last people we need on this site!

If you can't tolerate Voltarol (can give stomach pain/stomach bleeds) Biofreeze gel is excellent, available from Amazon. Cold signals reach the brain before pain signals, and I find one application gives about 6 hours relief. No, it does not feel freezing and horrible on application! Good luck.

By the way it is far more effective than the cold gels and sprays sold by the chemist. I have found them pricey and a waste of money.

Jim, can you say what exact surgery did you have and where do you feel the pain - at the operating site, in the hand, in fingers? Any tingling in the fingers?

In case adhesions (bands of connective tissue or internal scars) have developed in your wrist, a release surgery might be needed. The surgeon who operated you 8 years ago or some other experienced surgeon should be familiar with most possible side effects of the procedure you had.
