Has anybody been on 6MP methatrexate for BRCA 2? How is it given and what was your experience?

I was screened for this trial last June. I did not have any one area of disease that measured the required 1.1cm (although I had evaluable and quite widespread disease)so was unable to participate.

As I remember it is 2 drugs, mercaptopurine given as an oral daily pill and methatrexate, also oral given once a week. Sorry cannot tell you more. I am BRCA2+

Hi Nandi,

Thanks for that. I spoke to nurse at Cancer Research and got more information about the trial. I'm going to speak to my oncologist on Monday and take it from there. I have a small area of disease in my pelvis but not sure whether it would constitute measurable. If not, I will have another dose of cisplatin but my last was in December so am keen to do something different.
