advice please
Hi,
I am so sorry that you are going through so much worry, you could give the ovacome helpline a ring tomorrow and have a chat to Ruth Payne she might be able to put your mind at rest tel 0845 371 0554 best wishes love x G x
Hi,
It sounds like some wires are crossed here. A hysterectomy does not necessarily involve removing the ovaries, especially in younger ladies..... But a growth may not be cancerous. You don't say what kind of tests you have had, or what kind of scan you are having, but I'm sure your doctor should be better able to explain things for you, or as Gwynn says, give Ruth a call tomorrow if you can't contact the doctor.
I know the waiting is horrible and the worst things go through your head, but we are all here to help you along the way.
Good luck on Saturday

Hi! I'm glad you found us. The advice to call Ruth is very good advice, but she'll probably only be in the office till Thursday or Friday, with Christmas and New Year coming up.
My advice would be not to panic yet. There are so many things it could be, which are not sinister. Have you had a blood test, a CA125, done? It's also good that you don't have long to wait for your scan. Things will be clearer then. Let us know how things go on 22nd, and good luck

Dear Bensnan
I'm so sorry you're worried and it doesn't help that we're heading into the Christmas break so services tend to close down a bit.
I think the advice to go back to your GP is very sound. Please speak to the receptionist and explain this is really urgent. You really can't go all through the Christmas holiday worrying like this. You were probably in a bit of a blur going for tests and getting this result so you need to talk to your GP to find out exactly what is going on. As Wendy says it isn't necessarily sinister but you do need to clear up exactly what is going on ... and perhaps exactly what is left after your hysterectomy.
I can only say that medicine has progressed enormously since your hysterectomy so if there is a little problem going on there I'm sure the health professionals will be able to help.
Let us know how you're getting on.

hi ty all for your comments had appointment with my gp today only new thing i found out was it is a mass of 8cm were my overies should be and no matter what outcome is it will need removing he didnt want to do any thing else except check my urine which was clear i found him very unhelpful he seamed to be oviodind giving me a straight answer i wont get scan results until after xmas maybe into new year so still on tender hooks here
Hi Bensnan
I found that everyone was very evasive when I was going for scans and blood tests, but then I found out that they didn't want to panic me by saying it could be OC. I also found my GP wasn't really on the ball and didn't seem to be very proactive, but others on this site have brilliant GPs, so is it worth ringing back to your surgery and asking to speak to another GP? You could ask if they have any idea or can push for a date for your Operation. Having surgery will be standard procedure I should think, it seems like that for most of us. It's not so bad and the medical team can't find out and analyse what is happening inside you until they do the op. it really is the worst time for us, though, isn't it, that time when we have to wait until we know what's going on. Try to keep busy and plan to do some visits, activities etc, anything to keep your mind off the 'what if....' thoughts. Come back on here and post whenever you are having a wobbly moment. You will be supported, I am sure. Did you give Ruth a ring? It would help, I am sure.
All the best,
Love Wendy xx
