Hi Caz,

I think they are probably changing your chemo.. because your remission time is quite short ... they might get a better response from a different chemo and this is what they aim for.. try not to worry (easier said than done) I am sure there are lots of others that have had a recurrence like yours...but there are also others that have had a recurrence that is different as everyone is different I wish you well on your new chemo and send you my best wishes love x G x

Hi caz, my onc said that it was common for clear cell to come back like that- lots of small spots dispersed around, that's probably why they are changing the chemo.

Good luck

Hi Caz

My reoccurance is described as widespread in the peritoneum (however you spell it). I've been told I have no large masses, so it could be similar to yours. They tell me that this is caused by microscopic cancer cells left over from last time, that have now started to grow. The good news, or so I'm told, is that it is easier for the chemo to attack these "nodules" than if it was a large mass. I'm told, though this explanation did not come from the onc, this is because in a large mass it is more difficult for the blood supply, and therefore the chemo, to get to the centre of the mass, whereas with nodules it can get to the whole lot.

I hope this helps, the explanation certainly made sense to me!

All the best for next week

Chris
