IBS. Stress

Coffeeandwinelover profile image

so I’ve posted before. My ca 125 was 36.8 not back. But I’ve had chronic stomach aches for over 2 months. I definitely know it’s stressed related. But based on my symptoms and my history my doctor assured me it’s IBS. I’m 51 and still get my period I’m very low risk of ovarian cancer. He made me feels better but I’m not totally sure. I got something for the IBS but it’s not working like it should. I am on my period so that does induce things. And I’ve barely eaten anything. So stressful. Are my symptoms stress and thinking about this makes symptoms even worse. Ugg.

My husband who had Parkinson's had horrible stomach aches. The only thing that helped was taking a cold shower. It turned out they were migraines of the gut. The gut supposedly controlswhat happens to you in Parkinsons. I suggest you look further into it . He died before we were able to get help for it. He had what they call, "Sudden death in Parkinson's" Though he was 80, so he lived a long time.

If this is the first time you have had these symptoms, please don't accept a diagnosis of IBS. First presentation of IBS in a woman over 50 is *rarer* than ovarian cancer. Your CA125 is barely raised, so it may just be the gut issues causing it to rise, but you should have a repeat CA125 test in 4-6 weeks and ideally an ultrasound scan to show if anything untoward is going on. I don't know how things work in Qatar but in the UK you'd probably have to push for this. Good luck, let us know how you get on.

I actually do have IBS the more I read about it and talk to people the more I realize I’ve always had it. Qatar has some of the best in medical. But yes I’m definitely doing the ultrasound.

And also IBS or not. Chronic stress shuts down your digestive system at any age. Which technically can give you IBS like symptoms and last a long time if the stress remains. You can’t deal with IBS until you deal with the stress 🤷🏼‍♀️ I had a session with my therapist. And I already feel better. My noted stomach I can literally feel relaxing. I’m passing gas like crazy as it relaxes. But I’m still doing the untrasound just to be safe.

ultrasound clear. 👍🏼👍🏼
