Hi I’m a newbie here!

Actually I am 22months into my journey since diagnosis and currently at the end of treatment (see bio). CT showed NED.

My query, is there anyone out there that also suffers with psoriasis and been on biological or other meds for it?

In preventing a cancer recurrence would your body be better in a state of overactive immune system or a suppressed one?

Hello and welcome! You have done well on first line treatment, congratulations!

I don’t know about psoriasis but I have another autoimmune condition. It’s probably best to keep it under tight control but I don’t think it drove recurrence. Sadly the cancer is rather good at that all on its own. Having said that, I did get 4.5 years after first line so can’t complain. xx

That’s good to hear about recurrence. I’ve another couple months before next check up. Hope you’re well at moment. Keep going😘

Hi, I have psoriasis and have been on 25 mg of methotrexate weekly for the last 4 years.During this time I have not had any active treatment as the stage 3c carsinosarcoma I have has been stable.

As far as I know the methotrexate has not had any effect on the cancer, though I don't know how it would have been if I still needed chemo. I cannot answer your question regarding under or over active immune system s though of course the under active system does leave you vulnerable to other things.

You have had a really good outcome with your treatment well done.

Best wishes

Anne

Thank you for your reply. Currently I’m on acetretin 25mg but psoriasis spreading and more troublesome. Increasing the dose makes skin peeling worse on hands and feet but doesn’t make a lot of difference to PS. Previously I’d been on methotrexate for 5yrs+ but endocrinologist recommended a newer treatment that wouldn’t be so harsh as he suspected the chronic psoriasis (over 50 yrs) was the cause of chronic fatigue. (CFS/ME) So I was put on Adalimumab for 1.5yrs until my bloods went haywire and they discovered HGSOC 4b. Biologic was stopped, had 4x chemo, surgery and psoriasis flared really badly. Had a traumatic month treating it as my whole back was covered and the 10”scar down front dehisced. 5th and 6th chemo were delayed a month. Eventually the acetretin brought it under control.

I was trying to do a bit research about treatment going forward now I’m NED before my next appointment at DERM and ONC in October. There doesn’t seem to be any link between meds for skin and cancer. There must be “people” out there that have both diseases 🤣

I hope you continue stable or better, Px
