Raised CA125&platelets

I’ve been bloated for about 8 weeks now. Bloods have shown CA125 of 420, high platelets and low iron store. Prior to the bloating the only sign I had was a tummy bug followed by upset bowels for about 4 weeks.

I have an US in gynae booked for next Thursday but I’m so scared it could be cancer. I am in my thirties with normal periods and no real pain anywhere, just swollen and these blood results! Has anyone had numbers this high but no cancer?

Hi Dark & StormyI’m an OC survivor but I can tell you this much an infection or inflammation can make the CA125 rise example I had hernia repair 6 weeks ago and am due for a follow up CA125 surgeon told me to wait another month because inflammation can cause it to spike. Since your are young endometriosis or an ovarian cyst can cause an elevated CA125. I think anemia can cause high blood platelets glad your seeing your Gyno

It's natural for your thoughts to go to the possibility of cancer but there are so many other conditions that produce exactly the same symptoms . Your symptoms will be being made worse by your anxieties too. You are doing the right things. Whatever the outcome you need answers. Wishing you good luck with the results.xx
