Has anyone had sore cracked skin on their feet and toes? I’ve been on Rucaparib for over a year and the other day my feet became sore. I haven’t been running over rough surfaces in bare feet so wondered if it was the drugs.
I’ve just soaked them and I’m going to rub some bio oil in.
Any other suggestions? Thank you. X

I have sore feet and skin peeling on the balls of my feet. My big toes are intermittently very hot and painful. When I was in hospital the other day the jr doctor said it was gout. I think it was the Taxol. I had a few months of Rubraca last year. I also have cellulitis so I don’t really know the reason. I hope you get it cleared up. Flexitol 10 was prescribed by specialists. Love from Angela xx
Thanks for your advice Angela i know you have so much to deal with yourself at the moment. I’ll ask about flexitol 10 if it doesn’t get better in a couple of days. I hope you are stayinging positive and keeping the lid on your aches and pains. Sleep well. X
The skin on the balls of my feet also began to peel early on during front-line chemo. I did not have corresponding pain, but it was just so weird! After the first two infusions, the peeling gradually abated.Sashay
Sorry to hear of this. A lot of fellow patients in chemo unit complained of this. The nurses were recommending MooGoo. My feet have a strange dead feeling, almost like I am walking on thin slabs of wood. This has been happening since my carbo/taxol chemo, which ended in January. What I really suffer with is terribly cracked and painful thumb ends. They began during chemo but have got even worse since I began taking Niraparib a couple of months ago. I am trying all sorts of moisturisers abd remedies without success.
I swear by Flexitol heel cream.I use it every night and put sports socks on in bed.Never spend a long time with heels directly on bed, raise them up with a rolled up towel or pillow.I speak from experience having got a heel ulcer from prolonged bed rest in hospital which has taken several years to get rid of.Vivxx
Sorry have not heard about the feet. However my Oncologist did advise before I started on rucaparib that the palms of my hands might peel. I have not had this problem thankfully, but just wondered if it could happen to feet aswell. I hope this soon clears up for you.
Hi. I use a product that was recommended by nurse specialists and can be found in Amazon. It’s called Atrac-tain it works particularly well for cracked skin. Good luck.
If your friends and family were anything like mine, you may be in possession of quite a few lip balms...I have found a use for some of the ones that I've opened and wasn't keen on. I take them out with me and use them on the sore dry patches of my feet if they start to annoy me when I'm not at home!
Just a word of advice. Don't walk barefoot even around your own home. It's surprising how slippery bio oil can make your feet. 'Flexitol heel balm 'is really good. Put on more than you think you need and pop socks on over the top and it socks in wonderfully. Do this particularly over night. Despite having 'heel' in its name it can be used on the whole sole. It's on Amazon or most big pharmacies. X
