Hi there, I am hoping you can help me. I have had 2 internal ultrasound and my gynaecologist referred me for MRI and CA125 test. I get the MRI tests back tomorrow but I have seen my CA125 results online and they are 222 and range is up to 35 I believe.
Am I reading too much into this? I am 43, no kids, early periods, overweight, bloated, and abdominal pain.

Hello... I am sorry to hear that you are going through this worrying time. Yes your ca125 is raised but there can be many reasons for this. What is very clear is that you need to know why it’s raised... so this is investigation the Doctors are carrying out. Believe it or not... this is a good thing! They will work to eliminate causes, starting with the worst case scenario. This is very scary when you are the patient living with uncertainty. No one can give you any news until the tests are done...so that is your challenge right now. Leave speculation if you can, don’t diagnose yourself via google but do reach out to family, friends and helplines like Macmillan for support (you don’t need to have a diagnosis of cancer to get support).
Let’s hope it’s something else entirely but we will be here for you if it does turn out to be cancer. Take care xx
Thank you so much, I really appreciate that. I wish my appointment was today. It was supposed to be next week and was brought forward a week hence my panic. I will chill and try not to google too much. Thank you Lyndy for your wise and kind words x
Don’t panic CA125 is an indicator of a change but that can be many reasons, an infection for one! The MRI will give best results of what’s going on & waiting for results messes with our heads so keep busy as if we haven’t got enough to worry about at the moment. My mum always used to say stop worrying & find a cupboard to tidy & I laugh now because it actually worked😂& meant that I had a lot of tidy cupboards 🤣.Will be thinking of you tomorrow, let us know how things go, Big hugs Dee x
Hello. Really sorry you're having such a worrying time. As others have said, Ca125 can be raised for various reasons. You're bound to be worried and waiting for results is awful isnt it?
As others said, try and keep busy today...may help you sleep tonight too.
Really hoping everything goes well for you tomorrow . Do let us know .
Hey all - so sorry for the panic yesterday. I don't have cancer - PHEW!! I do have endometriomas the size of satsumas though so a full hysterectomy for me in 6 months once covid has come back under control. Thank you all so much for your help and support. I now need to lose weight as well, to get BMI into a safe operating space, but no more motivator than an operation xx
Hi, I'm so happy for you. Use this time to get motivated with the weight loss, there are so many health benefits of being in a healthy BMI range, this is your time to make a diffrence to your life and health, ready for your surgery in 6 months time. you got this xxxx
