Difficult time

Tier 4 is disappointing for so many not being able to see family during the festive season.

How lucky are most of us who live with others, have a warm home, plenty of food & have the comfort of knowing we will be helping family & friends stay safe through this pandemic.

Luckily in this day & age we have FaceTime, Zoom & many other ways of communicating.

Wishing you all as Merry a Christmas as possible 🎄

Stay safe & well xxx

Hiya you are right. However I am feeling gutted that our plans - approved by my oncologist on Thursday, to travel from Yorkshire to our son in London have been scuppered. This year I’ve been on chemo for 6 months and then had a terrible and frightening time with Niraparib for a month ( my heart and liver did not get on with it) .

So was having a break until the 5th January when I will start Rucaprib and was really looking forward to seeing the ‘ bump’ that is our un-born grand daughter.

However you have reminded me to count my blessings, which are many, and look forward with hope to better times for us all.

Bless you & so understandable you feel gutted after the year you’ve had but how awful if someone in any of our families got the virus & didn’t survive. I don’t think I would ever forgive myself. I do know someone who lost their life to Covid in April ( he was only 53 with no underlying health problems). I understand it’s been a tough year for us all ( & many more all over the world) who have also had to deal with cancer & the effects of treatment during this pandemic.

I’ve had surgery, followed by more chemo ( my frontline chemo was 2018 after 1st surgery)then Niraparib this year. It’s not been easy by any means but I feel grateful for so much.

My parents are elderly ( 81 & 82). My Dad has deteriorated so much this past year - wouldn’t be surprised if it was his last Christmas. It has been so hard not to be able to help them out as much as I would’ve liked ( due to my ill health & Covid). We had planned to cook for them at theirs but obviously that’s not happening now.

We’re hoping we can have a belated family Christmas if & when we can do so without worrying about contracting this virus.

I really hope you’ll meet your unborn grand daughter soon after she arrives safely into this world.

Take good care of you & yours xx
