My Bezzie and me - B*gger widowhood and the big C- we're off!

I'm making a memory box of photos whilst on this little jaunt. I have fixed in my mind some photos which I would like to make. This is my bezzie friend and I. She lost her husband of 50 plus years a month ago and came to stay with me at my son's house for a few days. We had the best time - many tears - but the best time. I shall print this photo - large - and it will go on my bedroom wall at home, together with the others I shall hopefully make. Noddy, my little UK car, is a treasure and we were like two little old ladies out on a jolly every day. Couldn't give a flying fig. That's what life is all about. Friends, family of course, laughter and good memories. Have a lovely day everyone. I'm now off to deepest Cambridgeshire to stay with my second best bezzie. We are the charity shop queens so time to sharpen up those elbows. I have my photo in my head and hope I can get it taken tomorrow by some kind passer by.

Love to you all.

Thelma and Louise spring to mind he he but please don’t drive off any cliffs!

Fab photo and loving the V’s!

I’m also giving the big C a poke in the eye and me and my Bessie are off for a trip to Versailles next week to have a few days of cancer free indulgence in food, wine and culture! Sod the fatigue from taxol I’ll get the little train round the gardens 😁 and the distraction will stop me being obsessed with my bowel habits during this 3 week waiting time I hope xx

Be great to see your other memory pics on here if you get chance I’m loving it thank you xx

I've a bit of photoshopping to do on the other two photos I took - rub out passers by etc - but I will share them with you in time xxxxxxxx

Glad you're having such a great time. I completely misread the word fig.

I've been to at least 5 charity shops myself this morning. We seem to have more in common every time you post.

Look forward to hearing the nitty gritty when you get back.

Love Zena xx

It’s so lovely to hear you being so positive! I was going to mention Thelma and Louise - the last time I channeled them with my daughter, I got a speeding ticket, so be careful in the little Red Devil!!

Have fun, best love to you both, Ali x

Wonderful post Krissy! I love the idea of blowing up memory lane photos. What a comfort they will be! I'm in Cambs so please share the name of a good charity shop. We hv a small Air Ambulance shop here in Oundle but I'm always on the hunt for better Gxx

I'll be perfectly honest. We did Burleigh Street in Cambridge. A street I know very well from when we lived in Cambs. There are so many charity shops that I think they struggle for donations as some of the stuff wouldn't have been put out in my day at Cancer Research in Saffron Walden 20 plus years ago. I did get a beautiful dress though. My friend always tells me to look at the label first. I don't know my St Laurent from St Michael. I moaned that it was £12. She beamed and said, Boden darling. Who? It did look lovely on so I coughed up.

I did Haverhill on my own before I came back and got tons for a lot less. I even found a lovely skirt for £2 which by Boden darling!! xxx

Thanks for sharing and hope you get some fun out of your purchases or are you battered and bruised from the accident?

No, Georgina, it was just whiplash but I've got an appointment with my own GP in the morning as it's not getting better so I need some nice young chap with warm hands to give me a good going over - i.e. physio. Thank you for asking. xxxx

Can't wait to see the photo you have in mind. Shopping around, hanging around with my BFFs is some of the most fun I have. Like you, not taken for granted either! Can you post your findings in the charity shops too? oxoxoxo Judy

Brilliant news, I recently bought my dream car, a red Mercedes SLK so me & my bezzie can go out and about & forget cancer, bowels & everything else, then go 'foraging' in supermarkets for bargains!!
