Hi Matilda

It’s difficult, but try to take the positives out of the situation..... you have no new symptoms so thats good, Bloods are good also they are keeping a close eye on you too.

Its hard not to worry, I know.

Thinking of you and wishing you well

Christine

I try to say its only a number... But feeling get mixed....I think to myself I am still better off than I was just over 2 years ago. Back then it was 6800 . Since then i have had debulking surgery..The oral treatment i am on is Epotoside. This is my 3rd lot of a different treatment..

I’ve just finished my 3rd lot of chemo, only had a 7 month remission between 1st and 2nd then 2nd one didn’t work so I went straight into 3rd one, it’s hard, but try not to worry and Yes, you are in better position now than 2 years ago, so that’s positive.

Its the waiting that’s the worst, so as Wooly hat suggested try to plan thing to distract yourself it does help.

Take care

Sounds like my roller coaster lol

I didn’t get debulk op though as they found a lymph node/ nodes in my chest, oncologist says it’s asleep at the moment, let sleeping dogs lie I say.

Take care x Christine

I’m sure it’s very worrying for you but there can be lots of reasons for a rising ca125. Hopefully the CT scan will give you some answers. If nothing shows up on it, you might consider a PET scan. I think you get more detail results from those. But I’m not an expert in any of it.

Look after yourself well for these three weeks of waiting and plan as many distractions for yourself as possible.

Good luck for the CT.

I am unsure what a pet scan is. Have only had a ultra sound scan at very beginning and since then its been ct scans..

Hi. I’m sorry you’re going through this anxious waiting period. Having no symptoms is good. A PET scan shows areas with hyper metabolic activity such as cancer has. It can have false positives but not false negatives. So it would show if the cysts on your liver were cancer. I had one that showed my lung nodes were benign and that an enlarged lymph node was benign. I think they’re expensive tests but ask for one.

An article:

You’ll have to discuss the options with your oncologist.

Hopefully it's just a quirk, there are many reasons why CA125 rises. Good luck, take care and enjoy the weekend. Sue xx
