2nd opinion.

Hi.

I’ve posted a couple of questions on here over the last 2 days but have more to ask. Sorry

My sister is needing to get a second opinion as she has been told she is at the end of the line from her current DR.

She is currently treated at UCH and lives just outside London.

Who is the best consultant to see to get a 2nd opinion.

She is currently in hospital with a bowel obstruction that they are trying to clear so she can get home. She is not allowed any visitors at all and was told this news all by her self. Just so sad and worrying.

She/and we need to know there is some type of hope.

Please help if you can.

UCH is a good hospital. Do you know the type of cancer? High grade serous or something else? Is she platinum sensitive or not?

These details could lead you to a specialist who deals with that particular circumstance. You could have a chat with the Ovacome helpline to explore trials or they might have other ideas.

Your poor sister, this disease is lonely enough without having no visitors to hold her hand.

This is a difficult time to look for a second opinion.

However, a few months ago, I searched for second opinions on behalf of a friend. I received many good suggestions.

Hi...The Royal Marsden in London or Sutton would be the first place I would be looking at. If accepted they could either offer regular chemo or perhaps a trial. Good Luck.
